About this event

Dear Symfony friends,

We are very happy to have Ole Rößner from Germany as the first speaker at our very first Symfony User Group here in Aveiro.

Ole is working as a Consultant and Coach for Team Neusta in Bremen, Germany. And some of you may know him already from various conferences and User Groups where he gives talks regularly.

The topic of Ole’s talk will be:

“Acceptance Tests with Codeception and Gitlab-CI” or how to solve a hen-egg problem

Abstract: Automating acceptance tests is a challenge. Unit tests alone are often not sufficient to ensure the functionality of a web application. However, in order to test a website with a browser, it must somehow be accessible via HTTP. But how does that work if you don’t want to have dozens of different versions on the QA server and who cleans up afterwards? In this talk I try to convey how to write acceptance tests with PHP for any website, how to automate this and also how to integrate it into an existing continuous integration environment.

The event starts with a short introduction to our new Symfony User Group Aveiro and right after that you can enjoy Ole’s talk.
