Dear Members,

We are pleased to announce our MoT #1 community event dedicated to officializing the community and Testing 2021 & Beyond,

The need for better software delivered faster and at the high standard accelerate the evolution of testing and quality practices in the software industry. In this talk, Catarina will share with the community the state and perspectives for the future.

This event is also the opportunity to kick-fof the community and get a sharing moment to align the best content we can create for future events. Your help in sharing the event will be appreciated, bring a peer :)

📢 Talk - Testing in 2021 & Beyond

From traditional software development practices up to the most recent Agile&DevOps landscape, the success of a software product is intimately related to its quality - that is directly connected to what is commonly referred to as Testing.

Concepts such as Continuous Testing and Quality at Speed are a must-have for ensuring quality assurance practices nowadays? Artificial Intelligence, modern tooling and new data

models and trends promote, by themselves, better quality?

📢 SPEAKER : Catarina Reis

Catarina I. Reis holds a PhD in Computer Science from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and a postgraduation in Strategic Management. She has been a Professor at the Polytechnic of Leiria (ESTG) since 2002, where she lectures on advanced topics in software engineering, agile methodologies, software quality and object-oriented programming.

In 2011 she has co-coordinated the Software Development Agile Methodologies Post Graduation (PGMADS-ESTG) and has been, throughout the years, involved in the formation and training in areas such as Scrum, Agile Methodologies and Quality Assurance.

Coordinates and develops technological innovative projects using several technologies such as Java and Android, iOS and Web platforms. As s software tester uses Behavior Driven Development (BDD) techniques using the Gherkin and Cucumber language. Enthusiast of software architectures from both a design and a visualization perspective. She is a Professional Scrum Master and holds the Foundation Level ISTQB Certification.

Her research topics include mHealth, Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technologies, Mobile Development (Android e iOS) and Agile Software Development Practices.

She is a Senior Member of IEEE, Counselor of the IEEE Student Branch from the Polytechnic of Leiria. Chair of the IEEE Blockchain Working Group from Portugal (R8) and the Co-Chair for the Community Dev/Outreach of the IEEE Blockchain Initiative. She is also a frequent contributor as a reviewer and author of publications in conferences and journals.
